Licenses & Certifications: Must have valid driver’s license. The right candidate will emphasize professionalism, honesty, concern, courtesy, excellence, and teamwork within the unit.Įducation: Requires an engineering degree or equivalent experience below.Įxperience: Ten years of electric utility experience in the construction or engineering areas, with some gas distribution experience at least 5 years supervising or managing non-bargaining and bargaining unit employees. Ability to promote a customer service focus and reinforce customer excellence by being sensitive to the company’s public image.

Individual must have strong electric utility distribution system knowledge and some gas distribution knowledge, or the ability to learn the gas distribution system, federal and state gas code requirements. Technical Knowledge/Skill: This position requires a self-motivated individual capable of working and making decisions without direct supervision.

Encourage and motivate PCL&P staff and consultants/contractors to maintain professional and technical expertise and skill.Hire and evaluate employees both directly and through subordinates.Periodically evaluate staffing levels and external resourcing for PCLP’s operational workload.Manage customer service programs and activities.Monitor and oversee gas and electric operations and maintenance.Meet and coordinate with the CNGHC CEO, Senior Officers, and Boards of Directors.Be the primary representative of the company to local officials, customers, community, and local media.Supervisor and manage the overall activities and operations of PCL&P and its staff, contractors, and consultants.The GM will be responsible for a variety of aspects of the electric and gas system including construction, operations, maintenance, customer service, and community involvement. The general manager (GM) is responsible for the overall management and operation of Pike County Light & Power Company.
